Makinsie Davis -- MMHS Prep of the Week

This week’s Maple Mountain High Prep of the Week is Makinsie Davis.  Davis is a senior at MMHS and is a captain on the swim team.   Davis competed in the 100 meter breaststroke (in which she holds the school record) 200 meter freestyle, and 200 meter relay and 400 relay which is Davis’ favorite event.

Davis has been swimming competitively since her sophomore year.  Davis says that she competes on the swim team because you don’t have to be tall or short to be a good at swimmer.  Some of Davis’ personal goals are to be a good team captain, help others, and to improve her times.

Students belong to many different types of clubs here at Maple Mountain High, including football, MMHS dance crew, robotics, soccer, Jedi council, constitution, photography, and the architecture club. We talked to a few of the advisers of these clubs and found out a little bit about what their club does.

Gary Miner, constitution club advisor, is a club that gets together to appreciate the constitution and what it stands for. Students can go to this club to ask questions about the constitution and figure out what it means to them.
