Marching Band Wins at Nebo Tournament of Bands

The MMHS Marching Band competed in the 2A division at the Nebo Tournament of Bands at Payson High School on Saturday, September 29th. In competition against four other great bands from around the state, MMHS received awards for "Outstanding Musical Performance," "Outstanding Visual Performance," and "Outstanding Colorguard" along with a trophy for 1st place.

Prep of the Week - C.J. Hildebrand

This week's "Prep of the Week" is C.J. Hildebrand. In our homecoming football game against Mt. View, C.J. had a touchdown run, an interception, a fumble recovery, and 16 tackles from his linebacker position. C.J. is having a great season, and he is a big reason why the football team is 7-1 right now. Congratulations C.J. and good luck the rest of the year.

4A State Golf Champions

Congratulations to the boy's golf team for winning the first golf state championship for Maple Mountain. The second day of the tournament brought out the best of the MMHS team and individuals. The team beat Bonneville by 5 strokes to clinch the title, and sophomore Kai Ruiz finished second.

Prep of the Week - Brynn Gomez

Brynn Gomez is our girls tennis team number one singles player this year. Brynn has won better than half of her matches in a tough Region 8. Brynn is a hard worker who also shows great leadership. Recently, Brynn helped her team to a top 8 finish in a very strong St. George tennis tournament. Congratulations Brynn for being this week's Prep of the Week.

Prep of the Week - Channing Merrill

Channing Merrill is this week's "Prep of the Week." Channing caught three touchdowns last Friday night to help the Golden Eagles defeat Lehi in an exciting overtime game in Lehi. Channing's twenty seven yard touchdown reception in the extra period was the difference maker. When not catching passes Channing also stars as a defensive end.

Wrestling the World

Last weekend Grant LaMont not only represented Maple Mountain and Utah, but also represented the U.S.A. at the World Championships in Greco Roman Wrestling in Baku, Ajerbaijan. Grant placed 10th in the world. Congratulations, Grant!

Prep of the Week - Kennedee Tracy

Jr. forward Kennedee Tracy is our first "Prep of the Week" for the 2012-2013 school year at Maple Mountain High School. Kennedee has scored eight goals so far this year to help her Golden Eagle team to a  4 - 1 record  Kennedee is a super player who also leads by example.
