Brian Bess has been selected as a Maple Mountain High School "Prep Athlete of the Week" for his outstanding play this season as a forward on the soccer team. Brian has scored 10 goals and 18 assists this season. His assist total leads the 5A ranks. Brian has been a huge factor in leading the soccer team to the semifinals of the state soccer tournament. Brian was also an outstanding member of the football team as a wide receiver. Brian is also solid in the classroom compiling a 3.98 cumulative grade point average over the past 4 years. Prep of the Week
Hudson Roney has been selected as a Maple Mountain student athlete "Prep of the Week" for his outstanding play as a member of the boys tennis team. Hudson and his younger brother Harrison recently won the 1st doubles region championship. At the state tournament the Roney brothers advanced to the 2nd round with their excellent efforts. Hudson is an outstanding student in the classroom with a 3.95 grade point average while taking a demanding class load. Hudson's plans after graduation are to attend Brigham Young University and then serve an LDS mission.
Nolan Bird has been selected as a Maple Mountain student athlete "Prep of the Week" for his outstanding play as a member of the baseball team. Nolan has led the team in batting with a .423 batting average for most of the season. Nolan has also been outstanding in the field at the shortstop position. Nolan also represents the school well in the classroom as he was just recently honored with the prestigious UHSAA Academic All State Award. Nolan's plans are to serve an LDS mission upon graduation. After Nolan's mission he may look to play baseball at the next level.
Brock Morris has been selected as a MMHS "Prep of the Week" for his outstanding performances in wrestling this past season. Brock won the state title in the 126 lb weight category caping off his senior year. Brock was also honored with the prestigious Academic All State Award. Brock has maintained a perfect 4.0 GPA throughout his high school career. Congratulations Brock!
Audrey Weller has been selected as a MMHS "Prep of the Week" for her performances this girls swim season and during region and state meets. Audrey won region in the 100 breast stroke plus 2nd in the 200m IM. At state she placed 2nd in the breaststroke. Audrey was also a member of the medley relay team that set a school record. Camilla Adams has been recognized as a Maple Mountain "Prep of the Week" for her outstanding contributions to the girls cross country team this year. Running as the number one runner for most of the season Camilla helped qualify her team for the state championships this past week at Soldier Hollow in Midway. Camilla finished in the upper half of the states best runners. Camilla is also an outstanding student at Maple Mountain earning the prestigious honor of "Academic All State." Congratulations Camilla, and good luck in spring track!
Aedan Seiuli has been selected as a Maple Mountain "Prep Athlete of the Week" for his outstanding play as a member of the football team. Aedan plays safety, kick returner, and receiver for the Golden Eagles. The Eagles are sitting at 5-2 on the year and Aedan has been a big part of that success. Aedan has also accepted an offer to take his game to the next level at the University of Nevada Reno next year. Congratulations Aedan and good luck to you and your teammates the rest of the way.
Andrew Jensen has been selected as a Maple Mountain "Prep of the Week" for his outstanding season as a member of the wrestling team. Andrew recently capped of his sophomore year by winning the Utah State wrestling title in the 170lb category. Andew is also an outstanding member of the football team. Congratulations Andrew!
Tuckler Back has been selected as one of this week's "Prep of the Week" in boys swimming. Tucker has been a member of the swim team for the past two years. He was a team captain this past season. Tucker recently received the UHSAA Academic All State Award. Tucker's favorite swim is the butterfly, and he broke the school record in the 100m butterfly this year. Congratulations Tucker!
Grace Poulsen has been selected as a "Prep Of The Week." Grace is a senior, three-year member of the drill team. She is the President/Captain this year. Grace recently made the 5A All State Drill Team. Each 5A drill team sent three girls to the auditions and then 21 girls made the final cut. Grace was also selected as a "Top Corp" winner at Epic Dance/Drill Camp this past summer. There are only 5 dancers selected from the camp. Congratulations Grace!
