Congratulations to Grace Knudsen on being selected as a Maple Mountain “Prep Athlete” of the week. Grace who also a member of the basketball team has had an outstanding track year throwing the javelin, shot put and discus. Her best discus throw broke the school record. Grace was the region champion in that event. She also qualified for state in the javelin and shot put. Grace also achieved the prestigious “Academic All State” award. Great job Grace and good luck the rest of the way.
Prep of the Week
Sheridan Liggett has been selected as a Maple Mountain Student Athlete "Prep of the Week" for her outstanding contributions as a member of the girls basketball team. Sheridan led her team to a 2nd place finish in region. She was 4th in the state in scoring with a 19.7 average while also being in the top 6 in free throw shooting. Sheridan was selected as a member of the Academic All State team in basketball and also as a member of the girls soccer team. Sheridan has been selected to participate in the 5A All Star game coming up soon. Next year she will be taking her basketball talents
Casey Harris has been selected as a Maple Mountain Student Athlete "Prep of the Week" for her outstanding contributions as a member of the state champion girls wrestling team and also as a member of school orchestra and band. Casey helped the wrestling team win the state title by placing at the state meet this year. She also had an overall record of 16-8. Casey has also been an outstanding member of the band and orchestra while playing the trumpet. Casey was selected as a member of the "All State Orchestra" this past year. Madi Goulding, Cheyenne Ortiz, and Oaklee Tingey are preps of the week from the Drill Team.
Three members of the Maple Mountain High School Drill Team were chosen to audition for the 5A All-State Drill Team. Madi Goulding, daughter of Tara and Steven Goulding; Julia Dall, Cheyenne Ortiz, daughter of Ryan and Amy Ortiz; and Oaklee Tingey, daughter of RaShel Shepherd and Ty Tingey, represented Maple Mountain at the auditions held on Thursday, November 4.
Sophomore Morgan Pratt is this yea's winner of the “Prep of the Week” award for our girls volleyball team. Morgan, who is a setter, has had over 800 assists over the past 2 years, has helped lead her team to the Co Region 8 volleyball championship this year, and a high RPI seed heading into the state volleyball tournament at UVU where they will be a strong contender for state honors. Morgan is also an outstanding student in the classroom. Congratulations Morgan!
Mike Bennett is this years Boys Gold “Prep of the Week” award winner. Mike had a high finish at the region golf tournament earning him a place at the state golf championships. Mike had a season 77 stroke average. Mike was also recently awarded the UHSAA Academic All State award. Congratulations Mike on a great year!
Senior Katie Smith is the years girls soccer “Prep of the Week” award winner. Katie who plays center back helped lead our girls to the region title and also a deep run in the state soccer playoffs. Katie has shown great leadership and commitment over her four year career at MMHS. She is also a member of the basketball and track teams. Katie was also honored with the UHSAA Academic All State award. Congratulations Katie!
Senior Kaitlin Dixon is our Girls Tennis team “Prep of the Week” award winner for this year. Kaitlin has been playing as the number 1 singles player winning most of her matches. Early in the year Kaitlin suffered a wrist injury that forced her to play in pain with her wrist heavily wrapped. Kaitlin fought through the pain to place high at the region tournament then advancing to the state tournament. Kaitlin is also an outstanding student in the classroom.

Sophomore Caleb Woolford is our Boys Cross Country “Prep of the Week.” Caleb has been our #1 runner all year leading our boys team to a 2nd place finish at state and helping the team qualify for the state cross country championships where he placed in the top 20 in a field of close to 200 runners. Being only a sophomore, Caleb has a bright future in cross country and track. Caleb is also an outstanding student in the classroom.
Senior Ashlyne Murray has been selected as the Girls Cross Country “Prep of the Week” for this year. Ashlyne has been a leader on the girls team by helping the girls advance from the divisional meet to the state meet recently. Ashlyne sets the standard for hard work and leadership that everyone looks up to. Ashlyne is also an outstanding student carrying a cumulative grade point average of 3.89. Congratulations Ashlyne!
