MMHS Spotlight - Abby Taylor and Emma Hill

Submitted by tyler.lewis on Wed, 04/27/2016 - 13:04

Being the school valedictorian or salutatorian is a huge honor. This year our valedictorian is Abby Taylor and our salutatorian is Emma Hill. To choose the two positions, it is traditionally based off of GPA and total credits taken. Sometimes it is also based off of co-curricular and extracurricular activities they have been a part of. Both were members of the cross-country team, Abby in her junior year and Emma this past year. Both students worked extremely hard not only this year, but all their years at MMHS.

Science Olympiad Team Takes 1st in State

Submitted by tyler.lewis on Mon, 04/25/2016 - 13:35

The Science Olympiad team placed first overall for the second year in a row. The kids worked super hard (most of them were new to this), so this is quite the accomplishment! Science Olympiad is a catch all competition that includes events in science, math, technology, engineering, and even music and technical writing for some events. The team doing well is a reflection of the whole school, not just the science department - thank you for all of your support.

Nationals is in a month from May 18th-22nd.
