On Friday, October 8, Maple Mountain Golden Eagles football hammered the Uinta Utes with a decisive win of 33-7.  Then, again on Wednesday, October 13, Maple Mountain pounded Ogden with a huge 47-7 win.

Maple Mountain’s KJ Hall said, “In spite of previous losses, our team has desire and lots of love for the game. Now that we have won two, we will keep winning.”

Hall was a big player in both games.  He had 7 carries for 34 yards and 1 touchdown with 3 receptions for 55 yards and another touchdown in the Uinta game.  In the game verses Ogden Hall had 8 carries for 149 yards and 3 touchdowns.

Maple Mountain quarterback Tyson Jex said, “I feel like we can’t be stopped. We don’t want to go back to loosing now that we have the feeling of winning.”

Jex also played a key role in both games.  He threw 28 times with 14 completions, 193 yards and 2 touchdowns as well as 2 rushing touchdowns.  Defensively, Riley Flinders led Maple Mountain with 7 tackles, while Tanner Blanthorn added 6.

The team would like to thank C.J. Hilldigrand, Colby Jeffers, Cameron Carson, KJ Hall, Tyson Jex, Riley Flinders and the entire offensive line for making a big effort and pulling them through to victory.

Hall said, “We’re really confident going into the game versus Spanish Fork. We will win.”

When the team was asked what they did better in these games, running back Cameron Carson answered “We ran the ball really well.”

Hudson Sheranian, running back, added, “The team had much more determination to win, so we did.”

“Our defense did much better at blocking and getting to the ball carrier.” said Linebacker Riley Flinders.  KJ Hall agreed with Flinders and Carson

Tyson Jex said, “Our line was huge for us. They came through big in these last two games. They have been a big difference maker in our games.”

The team was asked about improvement and Jex answered, “We have really come together and worked hard; we finally know what it feels like to win.”

Hall added, “We have learned to execute and play as a team.”

The team also agreed that they have improved on blocking, effort, attitude, confidence and hard work.
