Because of her interest in the “blood and guts” of the medical field, senior Merika Olsen interns at the Mountain View Hospital emergency room. As an intern, Olsen stocks linens and other supplies, strips and remakes beds, retrieves certain things, and is even permitted to watch certain procedures.
“I love working in the emergency room,” says Olsen. “I love it when the days are really busy and there is a lot of action going on. I have gotten to see a lot of cool, bloody things, and even a dead body.”

Brooke said she is still very interested in this line of work after the internship. Brooke said that one of the funniest experiences she had during the internship was when she had to test all the children and they were excited to test.   Brooke recommends internships to people so that they can have a good sample run to see if they like the career they are pursuing.
