This week’s Maple Mountain Prep of the Week is Savannah Martin, member of the All-State Drill Team. When asked how she felt about this accomplishment, Martin said, “It was rewarding, not many can say they were on a team that is as good as the Elleves.”

“Dancing is just a way of expressing myself,” says Martin.

Martin gives advice to someone who wants to be on the drill team, “Work hard; be willing to give 100 percent. It only takes one for the team to fail.  Work as if you’re at the bottom, even if you’re at the top.”

Last Tuesday at Maple Mountain High School our Golden Eagles not only hosted the Region VIII Cross Country Meet, but took home both the Boys and Girls Region Titles for the second year in a row.  This back-to-back championship team worked harder than any other school to achieve this season-long goal.

“What impressed me most was how the individuals were able to rally together and lift the team as a whole,” said Coach Darrell Wyatt. “It was a wonderful team effort top to bottom.”
