Maple Mountain High School is holding an Art Appreciation day December 7th from 6pm - 9pm in the lunchroom. Admission is free, and there will be treats, music, games and most of all art! We will be promoting our very own student artists by providing the opportunity for them to display their artwork to get seen and recognized. Also, there will be a select few offering up their artwork for a silent auction.

Girl's Basketball is on a Roll

Submitted by tyler.lewis on

The girl's basketball team has opened up its season with three big wins. The first was November 22nd, over Olympus, 54-38. The second was last Tuesday, over Payson, 54-23. The third was against Snow Canyon, 49-42. In all three games, the team played stellar defense, holding their opponents to single digit scoring in almost every quarter of each game. In addition to a great defensive effort thus far, the girls have been playing very well as a team on the offensive end, with balanced scoring and many different players stepping up throughout the course of each game.

Submitted by tyler.lewis on

Maple Mountain High announces the November students of the month.

Sophomore Raunie Lindberg plans to attend college and pursue her love of art. Her favorite subjects in school are art and math because she finds them challenging yet she does them well. Raunie's hobbies include playing volleyball, running, drawing and creating art.

Her favorite quote is, "A setback is a setup for a comeback." – Richard Wilson. She likes this quote because "anytime we have a challenge and work through it, it will turn into a strength."

Thoroughly Modern Millie

This year’s MMHS musical production of Thoroughly Modern Millie was a great success thanks to the hard work of the cast, stage crew, pit, and Mr. Moss. The play was exciting, funny, dramatic, and full of romance. Many students and families attended and said it was a fantastic way to spend their evening.

The World Upside Down

Submitted by tyler.lewis on

MMHS photography classes experienced the history of the camera first-hand when their classroom was made into a large camera obscura. With all light into the room blocked off and a small hole in one window, the outside world was projected upside down onto the walls and ceiling of the classroom. Students were amazed to see the mountains, cars, and buildings in full color on the walls. The camera obscura was one of the inventions that led to the start of photography.

UCBT's Live Animal Show

Submitted by tyler.lewis on

On November 11, Mr. Holden’s UCBT class had the privilege of having a live animal show from the BYU Bean Museum Outreach program. We learned new things about snakes, turtles, alligators, crocodiles, and lizards. Did you know that a lizard's tail grows back differently each time or that snakes don't unlock their jaws? Snakes have stretchy ligaments that allow its mouth to open so wide. Many students were excited to be able to touch the animals and some were understandably apprehensive. We would like to thank Mr.
