Submitted by Anonymous (not verified) on

Last Tuesday at Maple Mountain High School our Golden Eagles not only hosted the Region VIII Cross Country Meet, but took home both the Boys and Girls Region Titles for the second year in a row.  This back-to-back championship team worked harder than any other school to achieve this season-long goal.

“What impressed me most was how the individuals were able to rally together and lift the team as a whole,” said Coach Darrell Wyatt. “It was a wonderful team effort top to bottom.”

In an intense and extremely close game between Maple Mountain and Springville, the Lady Golden Eagles came close to defeating our rival Red Devils. With the Red Devils’ team consisting of mostly seniors while the Golden Eagles was mostly juniors, Maple Mountain proved themselves to be just as good. The first two games were won by Springville the next two games were taken by Maple Mountain; and, then it was a hard fight for the last game with the ending score at 11:15.
