BYU Museum of Art Manager Speaks to Students

On Tuesday, November 23, Chris Wilson (Marketing and PR Manager for the BYU Museum of Art) spoke to students at Maple Mountain high about careers in the art field.

Wilson  was invited to speak as part of the “Window on the Workplace” monthly lecture series sponsored by Maple Mountain High’s Internship Program.   “Window on the Workplace” focuses on inviting professionals from various careers into the school to speak to students about future job opportunities.

Golden Eagles Basketball Start Season 1-1

On Tuesday, November 30, the Maple Mountain Boys Basketball team rebounded after their first loss to Timpview by taking a victory over American Leadership Academy.  The final score was 55-33. In the second quarter, the Golden Eagles used a 16-2 run to edge the home team.   Junior Zack Porter scored 15 points and senior Kelby Crandall scored 14 which contributed to the victory.

Lady Golden Eagles Start Season Strong

In the season opener, the Maple Mountain High Girls Basketball team defeated the Provo Bulldogs 46- 33.

The Lady Golden Eagles played a sluggish first quarter scoring only 4, but turned it on in the second quarter scoring 17 points and never relinquished the lead.  Aleksa Gappmayer led the team with 9 points followed by Kelsey Lewis with 8.

In an all underclassman team, the Lady Golden Eagles are poised for an improvement from last year and a strong Region 8 finish.

“Make It With Wool” Winners, MMHS Staff Writers

On November 18, Nebo District schools competed in the “Make It With Wool” contest ( at Mapleton Junior High.    Contest preparation began in August and continued through September to fit patterns, layout, cutout, and sew the great articles of clothing that were presented.

Helicopters Fly for Ryan Parry

Ryan Parry is one of Maple Mountain’s seniors interning at Utah Helicopter.  Some of the duties that Ryan is involved in while on the job is sitting back, relaxing, and learning from the instructors.

One cool experience Ryan had was flying for over an hour over the American Fork temple and observing a school as it was dismissing for the day.
