Maple Mountain Wrestlers Crush Springville 59-9

On Thursday, January 13, Golden Eagle wrestlers won an astonishing victory at Maple Mountain against the Springville Red Devils.  Four Maple Mountain Golden Eagles won by pin, they are:  Austin Rowley, Josh Searle, Ammon Stone, and Lorenzo Rowley.  In addition, Logan Miner and Mike Nixon won by decision; and, Colton Killian and Logan Kinross won by a tech fall.  Also, three Golden Eagles won by forfeit including Trent Kelly, Jayden Casey, and Alex Garcia; forfeits added points helping the team with their tremendous lead.

Social Dance Parents Night

On Tuesday, January 11, Maple Mountain dance classes performed a variety of dances for their parents, including the Waltz, Samba, Hip Hop, Triple Swing, Cha Cha and Country Swing.

Close Golden Eagle Victory

Maple Mountain boys basketball had a close game with Juab last Tuesday with a score of 45-44, which makes this the Golden Eagles third win of the season.

Jace Edmunds led Maple Mountain with 15 points, 5 rebounds, 4 steals, and racking up three 3-point shots for the Golden Eagles.  Assisting Jace in the win was KJ Hall with 11 points and Kelby Crandall with 10 points including one 3-point shot and 2 rebounds.

Golden Eagle Cheerleaders take 3rd in Region Competition

Our Maple Mountain Cheerleaders took home a 3rd place award at a recent competition held at Timpview beating out close rivals Springville who took 5th place.   This is the first major competition the Golden Eagles cheer team has attended.   Due to their outstanding performance, the cheerleaders will attend national competition this March.  

After the performance, Head Coach Caitlyn Dahl knew the girls would win a top place award.

”For the first time competing, the team exceeded my expectations and went above and beyond,” said coach Dahl.

Lady Golden Eagles Dominate the Season

Maple Mountain girls basketball has been successful this winter season with a current record of 8-3.

Last Tuesday, January 4, the game against Juab was intense, but Maple Mountain ended with the win 46-40. Aleksa Gappmayer poured in 16 points while Baylee Nielsen scored in 11 points and 9 boards.

In December, Gappmayer was chosen as the Maple Mountain Prep of the Week due to her outstanding performances and team leadership.

“Our toughest game that we’ve played so far is American Fork; and, I think Springville and Salem Hills will be our toughest yet.” said Nielsen
