Four MMHS Band students were recently selected to perform with the UMEA all-state band in January. These students are:

Heidi Jacobson (Jr.) - OboeTaggart Bird (Jr.) - ClarinetLogan Marks (So.) - French HornChris Wyllie (Sr.) - Tuba

Three members of the Maple Mountain High School Drill Team were named to the 4A All-State Drill Team. Madi Ellis, daughter of Christie Ellis and Thad Ellis, Makenna Ellis, daughter of Christie Ellis and Thad Ellis, and Emily Kessinger, daughter of Bryan and Jana Kessinger were chosen to represent Maple Mountain at the 4A All-State Drill Team Auditions. There over 50 girls who auditioned for 20 spots on the all-state team.

What is your favorite quote and why?
“While laziness may appear attractive, works brings satisfaction.” -Anne Frank. Society is teaching teenagers that it’s okay to sit back, relax, and not worry about a thing when in reality, your joy and survival in this world depend on the hard work you do now.

Where do you want to see yourself in five years?
I see myself working and in college earning a degree.
