Adam Syndergaard Wins full-ride scholarship at National Science Fair

Adam Syndergaard, who is on the Science Olympiad team, competed at the National Science Fair (Intel ISEF) last week, and, while there won one of three full ride scholarships to Florida Tech for his work building a 3D printed gas electron multiplier detector.

Music Scholarship Winner

Maren Hansen from Maple Mountain High School was one of the eight finalists received a $100 scholarship. The event was the fifth annual Utah Baroque Ensemble scholarship competition on March 28 at the Orem Public Library. The recital was sponsored by the Orem Public Library, Community Recreation Organization, and Utah Community Credit Union. The Utah Baroque Ensemble is sponsored by The Utah Arts Council, the National Endowment for the Arts, and by the Orem CARE program.

FCCLA Student Awarded Scholarship

Sarie Cook, a student at Maple Mountain High School in Nebo School District, participated in the Early Childhood competition. Sarie was given a topic and then used available materials to write a lesson plan for Early Childhood Education. Sarie received a gold medal for her Early Childhood Education – Focus on the Children lesson plan, scoring above 90 percent. Her score placed her in the top three among her competitors nationwide and she was awarded a scholarship from Kendall College, located in Chicago, Illinois.
