Choirs & Orchestra in NYC's Carnegie Hall

As many of you know, our choirs and orchestra successfully auditioned for a unique opportunity to offer a solo performance in Carnegie Hall. Our preparations for such an experience has so tangibly enhanced our curriculum this year. Our student musicians have accomplished many significant and exciting successes in each of their learning outcomes!

Maple Mountain to Hold Concerto-Aria Concert

Every school day, music rings, sings, and strings throughout the B hall of Maple Mountain High.  The state-qualifying choirs, orchestras, and bands are busily preparing for the Concerto-Aria Concert.  The concert will take place on May 20, 7:00 pm in the Maple Mountain High School auditorium.  Admission for the concert is free and the music is sure to delight all in attendance.

Music Scholarship Winner

Maren Hansen from Maple Mountain High School was one of the eight finalists received a $100 scholarship. The event was the fifth annual Utah Baroque Ensemble scholarship competition on March 28 at the Orem Public Library. The recital was sponsored by the Orem Public Library, Community Recreation Organization, and Utah Community Credit Union. The Utah Baroque Ensemble is sponsored by The Utah Arts Council, the National Endowment for the Arts, and by the Orem CARE program.

Concerto/Aria Night

This Friday night, the Maple Mountain High School Music Department will present their third annual Concerto/Aria Night. Soloists are chosen from among the most talented of the schools musicians. This year the program will include Gershwin’s Rhapsody in Blue with pianist Josh Harding, Saint-Saen’s Piano Concerto No.
