Tyson "Tito" Denison has been selected as this week's, "Prep of the Week" at Maple Mountain High School. Tito's outstanding play and leadership as quarterback has been a big reason the Golden Eagle football team finished with seven straight wins to propel the football team to the semifinals at Rice Eccles Stadium. Congratulations to Sarah Mafi on being selected as this week's, "Prep of The Week." Sarah's outstanding play as a middle blocker/outside hitter has been a big factor in guiding the volleyball team to the Region 8 title. Sarah and her teammates also had an outstanding state tournament finishing with a 3-1 record and the highest team finish in Maple Mountain history. Along with Sarah's position on the volleyball team, she also participates as a cheerleader for the lady Golden Eagles. Great Job, Sarah!
Conlee Johnson has been selected as a Prep of the Week for her outstanding play as the goalie on the Lady Eagles soccer team. Conlee and the Lady Eagles have won five straight games and will take on Timpview in the first round of the state soccer playoffs. Good luck to Conlee and the lady Golden Eagles!
Garred Blanthorn has been selected as a Prep of the Week for his outstanding play at defensive end and fullback for the football team. Garred has been the leading tackler and rusher this year. His efforts have helped the Golden Eagles to three straight wins. With two games left, Garred and his teammates are putting themselves into a solid position for a playoff berth. Alyvia Dietz has been selected from the volleyball team as this week's MMHS "Prep of the Week." Alyvia is a middle blocker who came up big last week with four blocks against Springville to lead the Lady Eagles to a big win over the Lady Devils. Alyvia's strong play has helped the Lady Eagles to an undefeated region record this season. Good luck Alyvia and the Lady Golden Eagles.
K.C. Rose has been selected from the girls tennis team as last week's MMHS "Prep of the Week." K.C. is currently undefeated in region play and leads the team into Region 8 tournament play. Spencer Young has been selected as this week's "Prep of the Week." Spencer is the goal keeper for our boys soccer team. Spencer's efforts in the net has helped the soccer team remain undefeated so far in region 8 play. Spencer is also ranked #2 in the state with four shut out games so far. Makayla Cazier is our MMHS Prep of the Week for her outstanding performance at the UHSAA State Swim meet this past week. Mikayla won two individual gold medals in the 200 IM and also the 500m freestyle. Her later event set a new 4A state record. Congratulations Makayla on a great year and for representing Maple Mountain High School at the highest level.
Parker Christensen, from the boys basketball team, has been selected as this week's "Prep of the Week." Parker has been outstanding from his point guard position in helping the Golden Eagles in their quest to win a back to back Region 8 basketball title. Parker is currently shooting a very high percentage from the three point line, along with an even higher percentage from two point range. Korban Tibbals has been selected as this week's, "Prep of the Week" for his outstanding performance on the wrestling mat and in the classroom. Korban recently won the Uintah Invitational Tournament and has been successful in winning all of his region matches so far. Korban is a returning state placer who is expected to do very well in his upcoming state meets. Congratulations, Korban!
