Sophomore Mekinzie Meeks’s favorite quote is, “The Lord is in the details of our lives.” – President Thomas S Monson. This is one of her favorite quotes because she has seen it in her life, and she is grateful that her Heavenly Father and Jesus give her those tender mercies. In five years, she sees herself returned from serving a mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, attending a university working towards a degree in English, and quite possibly engaged.
A few of Mekinzie’s hobbies are playing the piano, reading, writing in her journal, family history/indexing, and learning in general. She also enjoys watching musicals and plays. Her favorite subject in school is English. The reason she likes English is because written words are fun, and she finds writing and reading therapeutic.
About what sets her apart from others, Mekinzie says, “There’s the straight forward things like my name is spelled different, and I stick “u”s in words (i.e. favourite, colour, honour). There are also the less obvious items like I have a strong sense of integrity, dedication, and responsibility, as well as gratitude. Also, I love to transpose major songs to minor and vice versa.”
Sophomore Clint Davis’ favorite quote is, “Leave no doubt” He likes this because it reminds him that hard work pays off and people will notice if you work hard. In five years, Clint sees himself going to college and living the college life.

What sets Clint apart from everyone else is his attitude and drive to become better. The funniest thing that happened to him was when he was in 1st grade. He went to his uncle’s house with his mom. Clint’s uncle was on the K-9 unit with the Utah County Sheriff’s Department. While he was there, his dog got out of his kennel and attacked him. It tore his leg up pretty bad but he says he has an awesome scar now.
If he could meet anyone in history, Clint would talk with Teddy Roosevelt and ask, “What was your greatest contribution to society before, during and after being president?”
Junior Karli Well’s favorite quote is, “A miracle is often the willingness to see the common in an uncommon way.” In five years, she sees herself in a theater doing tech for a show. Karli likes to do tech for shows and read.

In five years, Jared sees himself 3 years into college, training to be a tech director for live theater, and a returned missionary. His favorite class is Tech because Mr. Moss is a fantastic genius.
Jared’s hobbies include ultimate Frisbee, tech, reading, and laughing. The funniest thing that happened to him was discovering the tech bible online. Something interesting about him is that he is color blind, LDS, and, in his own words, “super awesome.”
He would like to meet Brodie Smith, if he would coach him in ultimate Frisbee.
Senior Misty Packer’s favorite quote is, “To see the world, things dangerous to come to, to behind walls, draw closer, to find each other, and to feel. That is the purpose of life.” This was from the movie The Secret Life of Walter Mitty and after watching it, she just wants to go out and live. In five years, Misty sees herself graduated from the U of U and moving to a brand new city outside of Utah to start a new job in the publishing industry that is a stable company.

Her favorite class is AP Lit because it’s a class that reminds her that she needs to work hard and use her brain.
One thing that separates Misty from everyone else is that she wants to go after her dreams with a fierce determination. She says, “I won’t let fear stop me because my mom told me that if my dreams don’t scare me, they aren’t big enough. I let that drive me.”
Misty would want to have a conversation with Ronald Regan and ask him if he knew any good jokes.

The funniest thing that happened to Nathan was when he was playing drums at the all-state jazz band rehearsal. The director, Terrell Stafford, asked him what the ride cymbal would sound better with. Without thinking, he responded with “a good drummer?!”
If Nathan could talk with anyone in history, he would ask Stravinsky what gave him different ideas in his compositions. He likes his composing style, and Nathan thinks that it is very unique.
