Country-time Christmas Tree

Submitted by tyler.lewis on Wed, 12/07/2011 - 14:54

Maple Mountain FFA gave the “Gift of Love” to the children of Primary Children’s Medical Center by donating a tree to the Festival of Trees.  Members of the FFA came up with a Country-time Christmas theme and raised money to decorate the tree.  Stars, bells, barbwire, ribbon, wood, and hand tooled ornaments adorned the tree. Officers and members spent time making ornaments, wrapping presents, or preparing the tree. We would like to thank all of those sponsors who donated items toward our tree and made our contribution a success.

Maple Mountain High School is holding an Art Appreciation day December 7th from 6pm - 9pm in the lunchroom. Admission is free, and there will be treats, music, games and most of all art! We will be promoting our very own student artists by providing the opportunity for them to display their artwork to get seen and recognized. Also, there will be a select few offering up their artwork for a silent auction.

Girl's Basketball is on a Roll

Submitted by tyler.lewis on Mon, 12/05/2011 - 17:19

The girl's basketball team has opened up its season with three big wins. The first was November 22nd, over Olympus, 54-38. The second was last Tuesday, over Payson, 54-23. The third was against Snow Canyon, 49-42. In all three games, the team played stellar defense, holding their opponents to single digit scoring in almost every quarter of each game. In addition to a great defensive effort thus far, the girls have been playing very well as a team on the offensive end, with balanced scoring and many different players stepping up throughout the course of each game.
