The Maple Mountain track and field team opened their season this past Tuesday, March 9, at Salem Hills High School. The day was a cold and rainy day, but our Maple Mountain track team was ready to compete despite the weather. Other schools at the meet were Salem Hills High School, Payson High School, and Uintah High School. Students from MMHS took the top spots in the boy’s 200M, the 800M, 400M, 1600M, 300M hurdles, 4X400, 3200M, Javelin, high jump, and long jump events. The girls took first in 100M, 400M, 800M, 200M, 3200M, and medley relay. These results show a very promising season for Maple Mountain track and field, a season that might mirror the Maple Mountain cross country. The Maple Mountain track and field team is the largest teams in its region despite being a new school. Maple Mountain is once again showing what its sports are made of.
