MMHS DECA Students Compete at UVU

On Friday, January 29, eight students from Maple Mountain High School competed in various DECA--A Marketing Club--competitive events at Utah Valley University.   Allison Fernandez received first place for highest test score in Hospitality Management. Jessika Hilton, Chapter President, received two first place awards—Restaurant and Food Service Individual Role Play Event and highest test score in Restaurant and Food Service.    Shirley Luo competed in Accounting Applications, Raquel Jones competed in Apparel and Accessories, Allison Fernandez and Dallan Brindley competed in Hospitality Management Team, Spencer Slease competed in Quick-Serve Restaurant, and Daniel Hanks and Derrick Winn competed in the Travel and Tourism Team event. Congratulations to all these student participants and thanks for their hard work and preparation.   DECA students will now look forward to competing on February 25 – 26, at the DECA State Competition and Conference at the Davis Conference Center in Layton, Utah.    Group Picture:   Pictured from left to right: Spencer Slease, Allison Fernandez, Shirley Luo, Jessika Hilton (President), Raquel Jones, and Dallan Brindley. Participants not pictured: Daniel Hanks and Derrick Winn
