On May 12 - 14 the Maple Mountain boys tennis team competed in the 4A Southern Divisionals played at the Spanish Fork city courts.  It was a tournament to determine which seed players would be in the state tournament and consisted of Regions 7, 8 and 9.  Even though Timpview ran away with every first seed, the Golden Eagles still played tough and qualified in every position.  At first singles Chris Wiscombe qualified as a 7th seed.  Second singles Calder Groberg qualifies 6th. Third singles is sophomore Ryan Porter qualifies at 3rd singles.

In doubles action the Golden Eagles have a solid crew. Qualifying as a 3rd seed is the first doubles duo of Nick Taylor and Kevin Rose.  Rounding out the team is 2nd doubles, who had the most successful divisional tournament, qualifying as a 2nd seed and looking for a rematch with Timpview in the state finals.

The state tournament is May 20 and 21 and will be held at Liberty Park in Salt Lake City.
