In the season opener, the Maple Mountain High Girls Basketball team defeated the Provo Bulldogs 46- 33.
The Lady Golden Eagles played a sluggish first quarter scoring only 4, but turned it on in the second quarter scoring 17 points and never relinquished the lead. Aleksa Gappmayer led the team with 9 points followed by Kelsey Lewis with 8.
In an all underclassman team, the Lady Golden Eagles are poised for an improvement from last year and a strong Region 8 finish.
Varsity roster is Guards: Aleksa Gappmayer, Jayci Peay, Wesli Peay, Breanna Bate, Jessica Benson and Malia Brady; Forwards: Sadie Williams, Kristen Wing and Kelsey Lewis; Centers: Kara Betts and Baylee Nielson.
