The Stronger Families Project provides family classes to the community focused on building the strengths and resiliencies that each family already has, and in improving their daily family life. The classes focus on such topics as communication, positive discipline, problem solving, bonding, and establishing family values. The program is 100% FREE and runs for eight sessions. Families are encouraged to attend each weekly session, so that they may receive a graduation certificate at the end of session eight. We want the whole family to learn and implement the same concepts, so we have classes for children, teens and parents. At the end of the night, children and parents come together and participate in a family class, where they get to review what they learned as a family and discuss ways to implement those new concepts. The schedule and registration for current sessions of SFP can be found at www.uvu.edu/sfp.
