Golden Eagles Boys Track Claim Region Title; Girls take 3rd

Maple Mountain High School hosted their first regional track and field competition for Region VIII on May 5 and 6. Preparation and hard work throughout the season paid off for the athletes of this first year school as the boys claimed the region title and the girls took third.

Senior Sunset was held last Friday, May 7. Many seniors attended and enjoyed this evening reminiscing over the past year and looking forward to graduation in just a few short weeks.

Golden Eagles Tennis Place in Region Tournament

On May 4, 2010, the Maple Mountain boys tennis team performed well at the region tournament. The JV team was phenomenal and took 1st place over all. Calder Groberg, 1st JV singles, did an awesome job hitting his way to victory taking first place. The only freshman on the team Matt Chandler, 2nd JV singles,  took first with his consistent serve and ground stroke game. Nate Hawks, 3rd JV singles, also played very hard and well taking 2nd place. We had three doubles teams in the tournament; they all played to the best of their abilities. Cameron Spilker and Justin Beary, 1st JV doubles, had a ver

Tori Nielson – MMHS Prep of the Week

This week’s Maple Mountain Prep of the Week is softball star Tori Nielson.   She plays 3rd base for the varsity softball team.  As a junior she is one of the only upperclassmen to start varsity.   Tori considers herself as more of a power hitter; she hits 5th in the lineup.  

Tori says she likes softball because “it provides a challenge and is something she loves to do.”

STATE FINALISTS COMPETE AT DECA INTERNATIONALS

Maple Mountain and Springville High schools attended the DECA International Competition the last week of April. Jessika Hilton, Maple Mountain Chapter President, brought home two national awards: Overall finalist in Restaurant and Food Service Management and top 10 role play score. Students who attended from Springville High were Chelsea Staple, Hotel and Lodging Management; Chelsie Murdock, Leadership Training; and Jerich McAfee and John Call; Financial Analysis Team Decision Making.
