Make Up Credit

If a student fails a core class, or any part of a core class between 9th and 12th grade, credit will need to be recovered with one of the following methods. Note: Students can also use some of these methods to get ahead in credit during the summer or regular school year. Ask your counselor for more information.

Method 1- MMHS independent study packets

MMHS packets are provided for the majority of core classes. You need to speak with your counselor for a referral form before starting the packets. Each .25 credit has a $30 fee.

Method 2-Landmark

Landmark uses an online program called A+.  There is a $35 fee for each .25 credit. A teacher is available on Tuesdays/Thursdays from 3:00-6:00 p.m. More information can be found by clicking here.

Utah Students Connect
Utah Student Connect provides a quality education with highly qualified Utah teachers, and innovative curriculum.  Contact your counselor to register for a course. Students wishing to receive original credit during the regular school year do not have to pay a fee. There is a $45/quarter credit fee for recovery credit and summer credit.

Method 3- Electronic High School (EHS)

Electronic high school is an online program for students who want to make-up credit, expand their learning, create more flexibility in their schedule or to graduate early. EHS is phasing out late into the 2016/2017 school year.
EHS classes are free for Utah students. There may be a small fee for a book or other materials depending on the class. For a complete listing of classes visit:

Method 4-BYU Independent Study

BYU Independent Study offers an array of classes for high school students. It is also possible to choose whether you would like to do your classes online or in packet-pencil form, and they now have a new option of instructor-guided classes. The cost for .50 credit is $144. Students may register over the phone at 1-800-914-8931 or online by clicking here.
