Make Up Credit

If a student fails a core class, or any part of a core class between 9th and 12th grade, that class needs to be made up with one of the following methods. Note: Students can also use some of these methods to get ahead in credit during the summer or regular school year. Ask your counselor for more information.

Method 1- MMHS independent study make up packets

More information to come.

Method 2-Landmark

Landmark provides Credit Recovery Portfolios that are available to make up high school courses. Most basic core classes are provided through the Landmark recovery program. There is a $25 fee for each packet due upon receipt of portfolio. Portfolios must be completed in 90 days to receive credit.

There will be a teacher available on Thursdays from 12:00-6:00 p.m. in Room 132 at which time you can pick up materials and have your questions answered. There is a credit recovery calendar and more information available at: Landmark

Method 3- Electronic High School (EHS)

Electronic high school is an online program for students who want to make up lost high school credit, expand their learning, create more flexibility in their schedule or to graduate early.

EHS provides all the core curriculum if you are looking to make up lost credit. It is possible to take classes for .25 credit. In many cases that is all a student may need to get back on track for graduation.

EHS classes are free of charge for Utah students. There may be a small fee for a book or other materials depending on the class. For a complete listing of classes visit: www.ehs.uen.org

Method 4-BYU Independent Study

BYU Independent Study offers an array of classes for high school students. It is also possible to choose whether you would like to do your classes online or in packet-pencil form.

The cost for .50 credit is $121, and in some cases where they offer .25 credit, the fee is $76. Students may register over the phone at 1-800-914-8931 or online at http://ce.byu.edu/is/site/
