Robert Rex -- MMHS Intern 56.31 KB

Robert Rex, senior at Maple Mountain High School, spends every other day interning at Mountain View Hospital emergency room in Payson.

Rex has a couple different jobs at the hospital.  His duties include changing sheets, changing supplies, and watching the doctors and nurses.

When asked if he is still interested in this line of work after interning in this environment, Rex said, “I’m still considering it. If I do it, I would want to be there at night when it’s more exciting.”

Rex witnessed a procedure in which an ambulance brought in an unconscious girl and they put her in Trauma One. The doctors were trying everything to try to bring her back. “It was like television,” said Rex.

Rex recommends this internship to any student that is interested in the medical field. He said, “It has given me a firsthand look into a career I’m interested in.”

If you’re interested in the internship program, please contact Mrs. Robyn Dunn, Work-based Learning Coordinator, Maple Mountain High, (801) 794-6740, or robyn.dunn [at] nebo.edu.
