On Friday, January 29, 2010, the MMHS Ellevés competed in their first ever State 4A Drill Team Competition held at UVU. The Ellevés placed 5th in the Military category, 4th in the Dance category, and 4th in the kick category. Overall, the Ellevés were the 4th place team. There were 15 4A schools competing in each category.
This could possibly be the first time a brand new school has placed in the top 5 at the State Competition. The Ellevés have had a very successful competition season—each of their routines has placed in the top 5 at every competition they have competed in this year. Very impressive for a first-year team!
Halie Bingham, a senior and President of the MMHS Drill Team, won 1st place in the State 4A Drill Down. She was also named to the State 4A Academic All-State Drill Team.
