Do all your clubs at school seem the same; a whole lot of work and nothing to show for it?  Well, if you have a skill or interest in engineering, programming, and drafting, then the robotics team is for you!  Maple Mountain High School is hosting the first ever district-wide robotics team, meaning all high school students (grades 9 – 12) in Nebo School district are invited to participate. The robotics team is entering a NASA sponsored robotics event called “First Robotics.” Teams from around the world participate in a robotics game developed by NASA each year. Sound interesting?  Not only do students have a chance to work on and build robots, they will get the chance to work with career engineers.  Millions of dollars in scholarships are given away yearly as well as internships; in fact, many companies come to the events to look for students to hire.

So, if you are a student in Nebo School district wanting to join a club that challenges the mind, then you might want to consider joining the robotics team. The team is also seeking the help of community engineers that might be willing to mentor the team and help with engineering, programming, web page design, and drafting.   For more information and to join, contact Mr. James Brady, james.brady [at] nebo.edu (james[dot]brady[at]nebo[dot]edu), (801) 794-6740, Room D-201.
