Maple Mountain High DECA

The 2017-2018 school year was a great success for the DECA club at Maple Mountain High School. With monthly meetings, leadership conference, and 5 competitions throughout the year the students stayed busy. Leadership Conference was held in Salt Lake City. Students were addressed by an executive from Maverick.

Following leadership conference, we had competitions at the following locations: Herriman High School, Snow College, LDS Business College, Utah Valley University “regionals,” and Layton Conference Center “state.”  We had 7 students qualify for state, and of the seven students 6 qualified in the top 10 in their respective events with Issack Bahena taking first in his event and qualifying for Nationals in Atlanta Georgia, which Issack attend!

Issack had the following to say about being in DECA this year and attending nationals, “The opportunity to both represent my school and state on a national and international level was humbling. It was an experience I will never forget”.

Thanks to the great DECA students for the 2017-2018 year!!
