Tyler Boyack has been selected as a MMHS "Prep of the Week" for his outstanding play as a member of the boys basketball team. Tyler has been very consistent in his play leading the team to the region 8 championship this year. He had an average of over 20 points a game during region play and helped lead his team at the state tournament.
Our Science Olympiad team competed at Snow College this Saturday and took first for our region. This qualifies us for state where we hope (fingers crossed) to win our third state title in a row. Congratulate the following students when you see them:
Our MMHS DECA club attended the state competition two weeks ago. Seven students attended the competition and all performed very well. A few highlights were: out of 250+ students both Savannah Marker and McKenzie Connelly tested in the top 10% in their subject, and they also finished in the top ten in state competing in the "Business Law and Ethics" team event. Spencer Searcy finished third in state and qualified to attend the national competition in California if he chooses to go.
Tyler Lewis teaches Digital Photography 1, Advanced Commercial Photography 2, AP Photography, and Yearbook. This is his sixth year teaching at Maple Mountain High School. He graduated from BYU with a bachelors and masters degree in Technology & Engineering Education. Photography is a relatively new hobby for Mr. Lewis after switching from graphic design and video editing, but he now has his own photography business that keeps him busy in the evenings, weekends, and summers.
