Clark Todd Tolbert is a senior at Maple Mountain High School in Spanish Fork. Clark is a big part of the technical theater program at Maple Mountain. In his role as student technical director, Clark provides technical support for numerous school and community events that use the school’s auditorium. He has been recognized in a number of ways for his work. He lead the Maple Mountain High School technical theatre team to a 3rd place finish at the Utah Shakespeare Festival High School Competition. He also received a special Judges Award for his lighting design for the one-act play “Trojan Women” at the Region 8 play competition.

Bradley Moss drama teacher at Maple Mountain High School had this to say about Clark: “He is remarkable in his ability to listen to others and to use what they say to make decisions to help support a performance.”

After high school, Clark wants to pursue a bachelors degree in fine arts with an emphasis in lighting design and later go on to get a masters degree. His dream is to live in New York City and be a part of Broadway productions. He also loves playing the piano and spending time with his family.

Clark is a joy to have in class because he is a friend to everyone, he gets engaged in what we’re doing and helps others to do so, and he adds fun and warmth.

Clark was also recognized as an MMHS Student of the Month in fall 2017, his nomination being supported by all of the performing arts faculty.

Universities are also taking an interest in the type of student and person Clark is. He has received numerous scholarship offers based on his academic standing, the quality of his technical theater work, and the person that he is.
