On Tuesday, October 26, two Lady Golden Eagle seniors, Nicole Killian and Taylor McMillan, were honored at the final volleyball home game against Salem Hills High School.

Nicole Killian is planning on attending Utah Valley University and majoring in elementary education; she is also considering a career as a high school counselor. Killian played on the team to be more involved in school and to enjoy sports; however, she does not plan to continue playing after graduation.

Killian says, “I learned how to play with and as a team. Yes, it can be very frustrating at times, but, you just have to stay positive and keep your head up. Don’t get too down on yourself, stay positive and keep pushing for the next point.”

A word of advice from Killian about high school, “Be involved, have fun and don’t care what others think. High school will be over before you know it. Make it something to look back on with a laugh.”

Taylor McMillan is planning on attending Brigham Young University Idaho and she would like to have an occupation in physical education. Her love of volleyball will continue; however, she does not plan to play after graduation. McMillan plans on coaching club volleyball.  After college graduation, she would like to coach high school volleyball.

McMillan says, “I learned how to have patience and how to teach different personalities the same skill.”

McMillan considers the most intense game to be the match against rival team Springville Red Devils. The whole match was back to back and high energy.

McMillan gives advice to peers,” Be open minded to all experiences and be willing to learn everything.”
