SPANISH FORK — Salem Hills broke open a four-point game by outscoring Maple Mountain by 11 in the fourth quarter en route to a 65-50 victory Friday night.

Landon Simonsen recorded a double-double with 24 points and 11 rebounds, while Jake Skinner added a double-double with 17 points and 16 rebounds to lead the SkyHawks.

The game was tied at 17-17 at the end of the first quarter and the Golden Eagles led by two, 26-24, at the break. Salem Hills outscored Maple Mountain by six in the third to take the four-point lead before putting the game well out of reach in the final period.

Zac Porter paced the Golden Eagles with 12 points, while Tyson Jex and Kelby Crandall added 11 points each and three 3-pointers apiece.

Jordan Robles added nine points and eight rebounds for the SkyHawks, while teammate Josh Treanor added 11 boards.

Next week Maple Mountain will travel to the Lion’s den to meet the current region frontrunners, Payson, on Friday, February 4, at 7 pm.
