October Students of the Month

MMHS is proud to announce the October students of the month!

In five years, sophomore Brooke Davis sees herself as a professional singer. Her favorite subject in school is math because she likes learning new things.

Her favorite quote is, “Treat others the way you want to be treated.” She likes this quote because she likes to treat people the right way. A few things that makes Brooke different than everyone else is her singing, the way she dresses, and the way she learns.

Brooke’s hobbies are singing, cuddling, playing with her niece, and being with her family.

Sophomore Alex Kessinger sees himself attending college in five years. His favorite subject in school is science because it makes sense to him. The funniest thing he has seen is watching his older brother sing with his soul.

His favorite quote is “In my body where the shame gland should be, there is a second awesome glad. True story.” –Barney Stinson. One thing that makes him different from everyone else is that he is a really deep thinker.

Alex’s favorite hobby is playing soccer. If he could have a conversation with anyone in history, he would like to talk with Billy Maze to talk about all of his oxy clean ads.

In five years, junior Keaton Nielson sees herself being happy. Her favorite quote is “How lucky I am to have something that makes saying goodbye so hard.” –Winnie the Pooh. She likes that quote because she values people and their personalities. Keaton’s hobbies is hanging out with her best friend and doing fun things.

Junior Caleb Hurst sees himself attending college to get a degree in concept design. He would love to work with modern movie directors to fulfill their vision. Art is his favorite subject in school because he uses so much more of his brain capacity and can let loose all of his mental capacity.

His favorite quote is, “True gold does not fear the refiner’s fire.” –Confucius. Caleb’s favorite hobbies include drawing, painting, singing, and hanging out with friends. He also loves spending time with his family, no matter what they are doing. If he could have a conversation with anyone in history, Caleb would like to talk to his great uncle that died in the cockpit of a WWII B-24 bomber. 

One thing that sets Caleb apart from everyone else is that he was born with a stuttering speed impediment. For all his life, he has lacked the gift of vocal expression, but he is gradually emerging from this trial and his speech fluency is increasing.

Senior Kristen King sees herself finishing a college degree in engineering. Her favorite subject in school is art because it is very relaxing for her.

“You have enemies? Good. That means you’ve stood up for something, sometime in your life,” is Kristen’s favorite quote because it helps her make a decision based on what is right, and she can stand up for herself. One thing that makes her different from everyone else is that she was raised in a family where they discussed many sides of an issue and was encouraged to see all the sides before making a decision. Kristen is open-minded. 

Kristen’s favorite hobbies are reading, drawing, playing basketball, and watching movies. A funny thing that happened to Kristen was when she was riding her sister’s horse in a big jumping show. She wasn’t paying attention to the countdown, but the horse knew the word go. The horse started with Kristen hanging on for dear life, which ended her riding career.

Kristen would like to have a conversation with Queen Elizabeth I. She would like to discuss how she was able to work with men who at the time believed women were inferior.

In five years, senior Hunter Hiskey sees himself being a state placer in high school wrestling, a returned missionary with a successful job, and possibly married. His favorite quotes are, “Only rainbows after rain, the sun will always come again,” and “We keep moving forward, opening new doors, and doing new things because we’re curious and curiosity keeps leading us down new paths.” –Walt Disney.

His favorite subject in school is financial literature because he loves money and learning about money. Also, he thinks Mr. Marvin is awesome. Some of Hunter’s hobbies are hanging with friends, knee boarding, wake boarding, boating, mountain biking, rock climbing, paintballing, hanging out with family, and going on dates with girls.

 Something that makes Hunter different from everyone else is that he has a twin sister, Shalee, who is also his best friend. The funniest thing that happened to Hunter was that he thought his elbow was a muscle. So when he flexed his arm, he thought he was showing off his elbow.
