Maple Mountain High announces the October students of the month.

Marianne Pressley - Sophomore Marianne Pressley plans to attend BYU and wants to major in Chinese and minor in communications. Her interest in Chinese is because she was adopted from China, and it is currently her favorite subject in school.

Her favorite quote is, "The only barrier to success is the fear of failure." - Sven Goran. The reason she likes this quote is "because fear can stop a person from doing anything. If you never do it, then you'll never know whether or not you'll like it."

Marianne's hobbies include playing musical instruments (clarinet, flute, saxophone, and trumpet), running, and spending time with her family.

Christian Tobler - In five years, sophomore Christian Tobler plans to return from serving an LDS mission, start college at BYU, and hopefully play on BYU's soccer team.

His favorite quote is, "Whatever you are, be a good one." - Abraham Lincoln.

Christian's favorite hobbies include playing soccer, skiing, all other sports, and watching movies. His favorite class is English because he loves to write and express himself on paper.

Ashley Silver - Junior Ashley Silver plans to serve an LDS mission after earning an associates degree. She then plans to earn a masters degree.

Her favorite quote is, "Guns don't kill people, dads with pretty daughters do." - Anonymous. She loves this quote because it's a joke in my family because when guys come over my dad will be at the table cleaning a gun.

Ashley's favorite hobbies include reading, four-wheeling, camping, shooting shot guns, collecting keys, mudding, going to Maceys with friends to get ice cream, and being with her family. She has two favorite subjects in school. Spanish because even though it's hard, it's a fiesta. Early Childhood Development because we get to teach preschool, and she adores little kids.

The funniest thing that happened to Ashley was when her friend asked her to go ask a guy what his name was. When she walked up to him she noticed his nametag, looked at it, and looked at him like they had just had a conversation. She then said, "Ok," and walked away.

Drew Bates - Junior Drew Bates plans to serve an LDS mission and attend BYU.

His favorite quote is, "Success consists of going from failure to failure without loss of enthusiasm." - Winston Churchill. He likes this quote because everyone is going to fail, and it's the way you respond to failure that counts.

Drew's hobbies are playing football, basketball, and hanging out with friends and family. His favorite class is Advanced Conditioning because he likes to work out.

Kimber Creer - Senior Kimber Creer plans to be done with college and possibly married.

Her favorite quote is, "A person's a person, no matter how small." - Dr. Seuss. It has always been her favorite quote since it is on the back of her cousin's headstone that died at birth.

Kimber's hobbies included spending time with her family and friends because they always make each other laugh so hard when they are together. Her favorite class in school is being a T.A. in the counseling office with Margaret because she makes her laugh.

Andrew Poulter - Senior Andrew Poulter sees himself in five years either going to college or being in the Marine Corps.

His favorite quote is, "Practice doesn't make perfect. Practice makes permanent." This is his favorite quote because if you practice something wrong, it will never be perfect. You just get better at doing it wrong.

Andrew's favorite hobbies are snowboarding, wakeboarding, and photography. His favorite subject in school is yearbook because he love photography, and he really enjoys making an impact on how people remember their high school and classmates.
