MMHS is proud to announce the November Students of the Month!

Sophomore Kristi Reategui’s favorite quote is, “I am in competition with no one.  I run my own race. I have no desire to play the game of being better than anyone, in any way, shape, or form.  I just aim to improve, to be better than I was before. That’s me and I’m free.” In five years, Kristi sees herself in the Olympics.

A few of Kristi’s hobbies are running, sleeping, reading, singing, and dancing. Her favorite subject in school is dance because she loves to dance. She loves the way it makes her feel. One thing that sets Kristi apart is how she loves to run – especially long distances. It helps her relieve stress and gives her a challenge. Running challenges her to be a better person by testing her abilities and endurance.

Sophomore Drake Allen’s favorite quote is, “Life is 10% what happens to me, and 90% how I react to It.” – John Maxwell. He likes this quote because it shows that while you live your live you can’t always control what happens to you, but you can control your attitude and reaction. In five years, Drake sees himself done with high school, finished an LDS mission, and heading off to college.

Drake likes sports. He run’s cross-country in the summer and fall, basketball in the winter, and tennis in the spring. He also likes to read, hang out with friends, and be outside. His favorite subject in school is chemistry because he likes to learn how the world works. One thing that sets Drake apart is his personality because he tries to be friends with everyone.

Junior Megan Pickett’s favorite quote is, “Success is not something you happen upon, but something that you must make happen.” This reminds Megan to work hard. In five years, Megan will be returning from a mission, finishing college, and getting married.

Megan’s hobbies are golf, paying the viola, singing, playing piano, cross-stitching, listening to music, reading, kayaking, and dancing in the rain. Her favorite subjects are all the fine arts because she loves being musical and spreading the joy through songs. What makes Megan different is that she is content being herself.

Megan’s most embarrassing moment is when she went on a blind date with a Canadian, tried to go ice skating but got there too late, ended up hiking the Y, sliding down, getting home around 2:30 am, and being grounded for life.

If she could talk with anyone in history, she would love to ask Jose Feliciano how he wrote such a wonderful Christmas song.

Junior Robert Nay’s favorite quote is, “Always bear in mind that your own resolution to succeed is more important than any one thing.” – Abraham Lincoln. He likes that quote because it shows how important belief in your self is. In five years, Robert would like to be going to college, probably BYU, and perhaps married.

Robert’s hobbies are playing piano, programming, and reading.  The sciences, particularly physics and computers, are his favorite subjects because he enjoys learning about how things work and then applying that knowledge.

An embarrassing moment was several years ago, he and his sister (who is 6 years older than he is) were getting ice cream, and the person serving them thought they were dating. Something interesting about Robert is that when he was 14 he made an app that was #1 for almost two weeks in Apple’s App Store.

Robert would like to meet Albert Einstein and ask him to explain his theories to me in a way that makes sense.

Senior Ashley Hirst’s favorite quote is, “The journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step.” She likes that quote because it reminds her that no matter how insurmountable a task may seem the only way she can tackle it is by beginning it. In five years, Ashley sees herself with a college degree and married.

Ashley enjoys reading, playing the piano, and playing the flute. Her favorite class is math because it is very organized. One thing that sets Ashley apart from everyone else is that she has an optimistic attitude. An interesting thing that happened to her was when her uncle snuck her backstage at the Polynesian Cultural Center and took her picture with a bunch of fire-throwing, shirtless Polynesian guys.

Ashley would want to have a conversation with George Washington and ask him what it was like to be a leader of an army whose chances of winning were so miniscule.

Senior Jake Hatch’s favorite quote is, “If you can dream it, you can do it.” – Walt Disney.  He likes this because it inspires him to chase his dreams. In five years, he will be finishing college and starting a business. His favorite subject is photography because he likes taking pictures and finds it a good way to express your self.

Jake likes to play basketball and golf. He also loves listening to music and hanging out. One thing that sets Jake apart is he was homeschooled until 7th grade.

If Jake could talk with anyone in history, he would like to talk with Steve Jobs to ask him what he planned on releasing next.
