On Tuesday, January 28, 2020, the MMHS Ellevés competed in the State 5A Semi Finals Drill Team Competition held at UVU. Teams were placed in “pods” of four based on their RPI ranking. Two teams from each pod advanced to the finals. The Ellevés were one of the two teams who advanced to the finals from their pod.

On Saturday, February 1, 2020, the Ellevés competed in the finals and placed 5th in the military category, 6th in the dance category and 5th in the character category. Overall, Maple Mountain placed 5th. There were nine 5A schools competing. In the 5A Drill Down competition, Maisy Melton, daughter of Aaron and Tanya Melton, was 4th.

Grace Poulsen, daughter of Shannon and Garrett Crane and Neil Poulsen, was recognized for being named a member of the 5A All State Dance/Drill Team. Each 5A team sent three girls to learn a routine that they auditioned in front of judges and then 15 girls were selected as the All-State Dance Team. At the State Finals, each member of the All-State Team performed a short, self-choreographed routine and was given a medal.

The Ellevés would like to thank all of the students, parents, administration, and fans who came to State. We really appreciate all of your support this year!
