The MMHS Ellevés Drill Team competed at the Champions National Dance Competition held in Los Angeles, California on March 7, 2015. The team competed in the following categories: Military, Jazz Dance, Kick, and Hip Hop.

The Ellevés placed 1st in Military, 2nd in Dance, 2nd in Kick, and 3rd in Hop Hop. Overall, they were 2nd in the medium team category. The Ellevés had a very successful competition season this year.

While in California, the Ellevés also had the opportunity to take classes at The Edge Performing Arts Studio. They took an open Jazz 3 class and had a private hip hop class. At Disneyland, the Ellevés participated in a private dance workshop from Shelly Nicols, who is a Disney choreographer and show director. All of the classes were very beneficial, motivating, and fun.

Now the team will prepare for their annual showcase which will be held on May 1 in the MMHS auditorium. The showcase will feature all of the team’s competition routines as well as a few new routines. The new 2015-16 Ellevés will also perform. Plan now to attend and see some award-winning routines performed by an amazing team!
