In their second year as a high school, the Maple Mountain Boys Golden Eagles tennis team has showed that they are going to make a push for the state title.  The Golden Eagles are 5-0 in region this season and they show no signs of losing any time soon.  They recently won the Duel in the Deseret tournament in St George, Beating Park City, Dixie, Pineview and Jordan High school.

Their number 1 singles is junior, Chris Wiscombe. Wiscombe was 10-2 last year in region play and qualified as a number 6th seed but lost in his first round match to Josh Bacon of Bountiful.

Maple Mountain’s number 2 and 3 singles are both new to varsity this year, senior Calder Groberg and sophomore Ryan Porter.

Last year Groberg was 1st JV singles, however, he trained all summer and winter to move to varsity singles.

Porter played 1st varsity singles last year as a freshman at Springville High and nearly qualified for the state tournament, then made the move to Maple Mountain High for his sophomore year.

The Golden Eagles doubles teams this year are very good and could make a deep run in the state tournament, especially their 1st doubles team of senior Nick Taylor and freshman Kevin Rose. Even though they are years apart in age, they play like they have been playing high school tennis for years, compiling a 6-0 record so far.  New varsity 2nd singles are senior Cameron Spilker and freshman McKay Luu who are also 6-0 this season.

The Golden Eagles are coached by Kamryn Rose who is also the girls coach, with assistants Paul Whiting and Steve Blonquist.
