The Utah FFA Association sponsored the Utah Leadership Conference in Provo on December 10 and 11.   Maple Mountain FFA had 14 students who participated in the conference.  These students spent the two days learning leadership skills including public speaking, teamwork, and confidence.  This is a high energy workshop with great presenters, including past national and state FFA officers.

Not only did these students learn from the presenters, but they were able to network and meet other FFA members from throughout the state.  Once students arrive they are split into groups with other members.  There were 20 different chapters from all over the state that attended.  This gave students the opportunity to branch out and meet new people.

Students attend small group workshops as well as a large group workshop.  During these workshops students were asked to do things like give a speech, construct the tallest tower using limited supplies and no communication, creating raps, squatting for unbelievable amounts of time and ….  Through these workshops students learned how to be better public speakers, the power that each person has, communication skills, being themselves, and many more.

A good time was had by all who attended.  Those who attended were:  Brent Blas, Daniel Jensen, Dillon Hales, Kolton Christensen, Collin Swenson, Decker Nielson, Kiley Talbot, Caitlyn Bills, Mikayla Nusink, Jessica Clegg, Shania Steele, Ciara Moosman, Taylor Johnson, and Jessica Bills.
