Golden Eagle track and field does well at Utah County Invite

The Maple Mountain track and field team competed well in the Utah County Invite at Timpanogos High on Friday, April 22.

Four school records were broken:  Sandra Novak in the shot put; Jalene Keiiliki, Megan Elmont, Jensen Williams, and Sandra Novak in the 4x400m; Ashley Phelps in the 1600m; and, Hayley Knapp in the 3200m.

Other highlights include Eddie Prothero qualifying for state in the 110m hurdles with a personal record of 16.01 seconds placing 5th in the event, Tiffany Gomm’s 8th place finish in the 100 hurdles, Jensen Williams’ 5th place finish in the 400, Isaac Faux’s 3rd place finish in the 1600 and 7th place finish in the 800, Paxton Patey’s 6th place finish in the 1600, the girls 4x100 (Heyn, Elmont, Weight, Bingham) relay team’s 3rd place finish, the girls medley relay (Heyn, Weight, Bingham, Bennett) team running the best time of the season and placing 6th, the boys 4x400 (Slavins, Barker, Faux, Muirbrook) team placing 3rd, Skyler Porcaro 2nd place in the Javelin and 5th in the discus followed by Zach Decker who placed 7th in the discus and 2nd in the shot put, Makanize Davis 8th place finish in the discus and Lance Merrell tied for 4th in the high jump.
