Golden Eagle runners do well at Murray Invitational

Maple Mountain runners exploded onto the Murray Invitational course last Friday.  The Golden Eagles did exceptionally well dazzling the other 61 schools that were competing. For many runners this was the biggest race of their lives, in a literal sense.  Battling against schools like Davis and Pine View, Varsity boys pulled off an 8th overall win while Varsity girls placed 12th.

Our JV and Rookie runners weren’t too shabby either. Runners like Teron Haynie and Eddie Prothero secured 11th overall for JV boys, and JV girl runners like Bria Heckel, Rebecca Wilkinson, and Olivia Garrido gave their all for 8th place. Our own sophomore runner Sarah Hash rocketed into the Freshman and Sophomore race getting in 4th place with a time of 20:25.  Each runner made an outstanding effort in this contest considering the enormity of the race.
