Maple Mountain High announces the February students of the month.

In five years, sophomore Yalaina Linford sees herself attending BYU and working towards becoming an elementary school teacher, as well as a seminary teacher. Yalaina’s doesn’t have a favorite subject because she loves learning.

Her favorite quote is, "All that we have to decide is what to do with the time that is given us." – Gandalf. She likes that quote because it brings out the fact that we can’t always choose our circumstances, but we can choose our attitudes and actions.

Yalaina’s favorite hobbies include playing drawing, sculpting, reading, horseback riding, and cooking. One thing that makes her different from everyone else is that she closes her eyes whenever there is violence on T.V. or in movies.

In five years, Sophomore Casey Brown plans to have graduated high school, completed one year of college and be serving an LDS mission. His favorite subject is drama because he gets to explore and express himself without being worried about what others think.

His favorite quote is, "Nothing is impossible; the word itself says, ‘I’m possible!’" – Audrey Hepburn. He likes this quote because it shows that anything is possible if you work hard. One thing that makes Casey different is that he is a very social person.

Casey’s hobbies include track, cross country, and acting. The funniest thing that happened to him was when he was dancing on a chair at a Halloween party, fell off, and hit his head. He ended up going to the emergency room dressed as a girl because it was his Halloween costume.

Junior Julia Raymen plans to either be on an LDS mission, studying in college, or traveling. Her favorite subjects in school are zumba because it makes her feel so fit and healthy and astronomy because she could understand it.

Her favorite quote is, "Credendo vidas,” which is Latin and means “by believing one sees.” It is from her favorite movie, “The magical Voyage of the Unicorn.”

Julia’s favorite hobbies include reading, writing, dancing, and singing in her room. One thing that makes her stand out is that she is sensitive which makes her good at listening.

Junior Kyle Hansen sees himself in five years returned from an LDS mission and married in the temple. His favorite subjects in school are seminary, welding, and photography.

His favorite quote is, "Let they bowels also be full of charity towards all men, and to the household of faith, and let virtue garnish they thoughts unceasingly; then shall they confidence wax strong in the presence of God; and the doctrine of the priesthood shall distill upon thy soul as the dews from heaven." – D&C 131:45. One thing that makes Kyle different from everyone else is that he is always willing to help other people.

Kyle’s hobbies are rock climbing, photography, welding, and mechanics. The funniest thing that happened to him was when he fell asleep in computer tech. While asleep, he dreamed that he was falling, jerked awake, and knocked the computer monitor onto the ground.

In five years, Senior Kelsie Glassford plans to be working as a hair stylist and going to college. She enjoys her ASL class because she likes to use her fingers to talk and finds it fun to learn a new language.

Her favorite quote is, "Her love is like the wind. You can’t see it, but you can feel it." One thing that makes Kelsie stand out from everyone else is her laugh and smile.

Kelsie’s hobbies include reading, singing, playing with children, and laughing.

In five years, Senior Caleb Russell sees himself still as a child; he’ll still be excited about life and learning and still be able to trust and wonder as a child would.  He doesn’t want to lose that innocence and become cold and cynical as so much of the world has become. His favorite class was Mr. Miner’s AP U.S. History Class. He found it fascinating to learn about history through such a dynamic person.

His favorite quote is, "Nobody cares how much you know until they know how much you care.” Caleb likes that quote because caring for people should always come first because through caring we open ourselves and others to countless possibilities and experiences. He thinks we connect with them more deeply than we ever could just by showing off our knowledge.

Caleb’s favorite hobbies are spending time with family and close friends. He loves helping other people, and scouting has always been a significant part of my life. Other than that, he likes reading, writing poetry, composing music, and discussing existentialistic and theological topics.

Caleb stands out from everyone else because his parents have been so great at rearing him in a way to understand right and wrong. He usually tries to think of what would make my parents most proud when he’s making a decision.
