Maple Mountain High announces April students of the month.

Justin Slavens -- Junior Justin Slavens plans to go on an LDS mission and after returning, to attend Brigham Young University to become an orthopedic surgeon, a history teacher, or a football coach.

Justin’s favorite quote is, “Keep your dreams alive. Understand to achieve anything requires faith and belief in yourself, vision, hard work, determination, and dedication. Remember all things are possible for those who believe.” – Gail Devers.

What makes Justin different from everyone else is that he’s not afraid to voice his opinion and stand up for what is right.

His favorite subject in school is History, because he likes hearing about the different accomplishments that people have achieved and hopes that one day he will be in history books for one of his accomplishments.

Hudson Sheranian -- Senior Hudson Sheranian plans to attend Brigham Young University and eventually to be married with two children.

Hudson’s favorite quote is, “In life we make choices, but ultimately our choices make us.”

Hudson’s favorite hobbies include playing the ukulele, balloon animals, dancing, sports, singing and playing the piano.

The funniest thing that happened to Hudson was when he was in elementary school and he tied everyone’s shoes to their desk and they didn’t notice until they got up.

When asked what makes him different from everyone else, Hudson said, “I love people unconditionally, and look at who they really are.”

Jessica Palmer -- Senior Jessica Palmer enjoys meandering with her friends, especially when they don’t know where they are going. Her favorite subject in school is literature and composition because “It is an adventure every day.”  Palmer’s favorite quote is, “Poets have been mysteriously silent on the subject of cheese.” Palmer pictures herself in five years as being rich.

Jace Thatcher -- Sophomore Jace Thatcher enjoys hanging out with his friends and playing sports. Thatcher’s favorite quote is, “You don’t have to swim faster than the shark you just have to swim faster than the person swimming next to you.”

If Thatcher could talk to any historical figure he would choose Abraham Lincoln and he would ask him how he earned the nickname Honest Abe?  Thatcher‘s favorite subject in school is Spanish because “B-Shaw” is his coach and a good teacher. Thatcher sees himself as a police officer or a military member in the future.

Brittany Graham -- Brittany Graham is a sophomore who enjoys writing, reading, and anything that has to do with music. Graham plans to study hard to become a family doctor. Graham would like to talk to Bach and ask him where he got his inspiration.

Graham’s favorite subject in school is music because even though she loves helping people, music soothes her soul and helps her prepare for the challenges ahead. Graham’s favorite quote is, “We are living in a world where the individual must learn to command the raw materials of expression. He must not be dependent all the time on ready-made, the finished product. It’s the transferring; the changing of the raw into what is the expression of your own self, the whole joy and satisfaction.”

Tyler Melling -- Senior Tyler Milling loves P.E and weight lifting.  After school he loves to hang out with friends and play sports. In five years he plans on being in college, working and dating.

When asked what was the funniest thing that ever happened to him Tyler said, “When I was 12 I asked Michael Loveless at scouts to say a prayer before we left to go swimming at the Springville pool. In the prayer he said ‘Please bless Tyler that he won’t drown because he’s short’.”

Tyler’s favorite quote is, “It’s not what happens to you, it’s how you take it. A lot of things happen in life that you can’t control, you can take it in a good what or bad way, it’s your choice.”

Zach McEntire -- Senior Zach McEntire loves school, and music classes are his favorite. He loves to “Start his day with music in my ears,” said Zach. After school he enjoys messing around with musical instruments, going on long bike rides and dancing in the rain.

His favorite quote is “Gravity is working against me and gravity wants to bring me down.” – John Mayer.
