MMHS Parents,

We are pleased to announce an upcoming event at our school designed to help our students, parents and us as educators.  We will be showing the "Angst Movie" to help our school community become better aware of the growing issues surrounding anxiety and provide some resources to help.  Link: https://angstmovie.com/

Here's our timeline:

1. Monday, October 29 - Teachers will watch the movie during school collaboration and receive training afterward.

2. Monday, October 29, 7:00 p.m. - Parents (with or without their teenage children) are invited to a community showing in the MMHS auditorium with a panel question/answer session afterward.

3. Friday, November 2 - Students at the school will attend an assembly to watch the movie in the auditorium with an informational session afterward.

We anticipate that this will be a positive, shared experience for our school community and hope it will raise awareness as well as help us address issues better. Part of the real power of this movie is if both the parents and the students see it. It has valuable information for both!

All of the Nebo high schools are showing this movie this year. It is well done. The movie explains what is happening with our brain, and our physical responses when anxious. The information comes from current scientific research and is presented by qualified therapists who explain the difference between stress and anxiety as well as provide coping strategies.

We sincerely hope that our parents can attend this movie screening and believe it will be well worth your time.

Sincerely,
MMHS Administration
