Maple Mountain senior Alysa Skousen is interning at Park Elementary Preschool in Spanish Fork.  Alysa was interested in this line of work because she loves little children.

“They are at the age where they absolutely love school, they are open to everything you teach them,” said Alysa

Alysa thinks that every day is a cool and different experience. She loves how all the children want to her to sit and play with them. Alysa’s duties at Park Elementary Preschool include helping the children during play/snack time.  During that time, she is able to teach and help the students complete centers, after which Alysa leads in singing time.

Alysa said, “I can go to preschool in a bad mood and leave later in a great one; they just make me feel so happy.”

Alysa is interested in this line of work after her internship.  Alysa interned last year at a different elementary school and she absolutely loved it.

Alysa feels that this internship has benefited her and she has decided that she is going to further her education in Elementary and/or Special Education at Utah State.

If you’re interested in the internship program, please contact Mrs. Robyn Dunn, Work-based Learning Coordinator, Maple Mountain High, (801) 794-6740, or robyn.dunn [at] nebo.edu (robyn[dot]dunn[at]nebo[dot]edu)
