Maple Mountain High School Dance Company 2013-2014 Auditions will be held Monday and Tuesday May 6th and 7th at 3:00 in the high school dance room. The Maple Mountain Dance Company received "Superior" scores for student choreography and performance at the 3rd Annual Dance Company Festival and Adjudication held at the Covey Center on April 9th, 2013. The company shared 7 different pieces with the judges choreographed by Elise Barney, Sidni Braithwaite, Kara Gilstrap, McCall Moon, Amelia Pullman, and Whitney Johns. Amelia Pullman's dance "The Spirit of the Trees" received the "Judges Choice Award" at the DCFA Gala in which the company also perfomed two pieces along with 7 other schools from Utah Valley.
Maple Mountain High School Dance Company is one of 5 high school dance companies that have been invited to be a guest performer in Snow College's Dance3 Concert at the Eccles Center for the Performing Arts in Ephraim. MMDC members will perform with Snow College Dance Ensemble and Julliard Dancer Corey Shide. The show is March 11th at 6:30pm.
Eighteen Maple Mountain High School girls competed for the title of “Sweetheart” 2012. They were: Brett Bennett, Sarah Bendixsen, Christena Birkhoffer, Becca Brown, Erin Elmont, Randie Hyer, Mckell James, Raquel Jones, Kristan Kiracofe, Kami Miner, Heidi Morrill, A’Lea Nielsen, Sam Nielson, Ali Prothero, Jada Poulsen, Heather Richins, Alena Robertson, and Kambrie Sales. The contestants had a range of contests including cow milking, pie eating, flower arranging, cake decorating, and a relay race.
The Nebo School District Dance Company Showcase will be held Wednesday, February 29th at 7:00 pm in the Maple Mountain High School Auditorium. The Dance Companies from Maple Mountain, Spanish Fork, Salem Hills, Springville, and Payson High Schools will all be presenting pieces they have worked on this school year. Each school's Sterling Scholar will also perform at this unique concert. Please come and support our talented dancers and the fine arts programs at the high schools. Admission is $5 or family pass for $20. Students admission is $3 with student ID.
